Traditional craft techniques are combined with untraditional materials – creating a new context. Light, shadows and the rhythm of materials are explored through weaving, graphic embroidery and photography.
For many years, Christina has worked in the commercial and industrial design world where craftsmanship and artistic works are a very low priority — it is more about fast business and fast fashion. In 2016 she became self-employed with her own design studio and she began to seriously experiment with other kinds of processes and artistic approaches to design and crafts.
Christina Christensen is a danish designer / visual artist and also the founder and co-owner of FRIDAJOHS design studio in Denmark.
